This unit is made out of beryllium - a very light and costly metal.
The ENTIRE tension system relys on this unit.... and over time it WILL crack
as it is basically wiggling back and forth, and has been doing so for decades.
Once it cracks, all your tensions will go bad....

You MUST replace the stationary Post Guides if you have an early version MM 1100
this will reduce the Wow and Flutter and insure proper tape speed - a MUST HAVE
Note these roller guides do NOT come with the bottom holder - they were designed
to be replacements for the MM 1200 rollers if someone damaged theirs.... thus the bottom piece was
never made. You can easily build up your own 'bottom' by using standard washers
available just about everywhere... a bunch of folks have done this to their machines and it's easy.

When my stock is gone that's it... you'll have to mod your machines to
