These VU meters work perfectly in the later UREI 1176 or 1178 units...
Note these are USED good and tested Vintage VU Meters
Alas my latest batch of these VU Meters (2025) all have the RED portion
of the meter face faded away with age and possible sunlight over time.
The 2 pictures below show he last UREI repplacements I have now

You should swap your UREI meter faces into the replacment VU Meter !!
The meters WORK FINE !!!
TO match the original UREI VU meter - which is no longer made or even available from UREI -
We will test all VU meters before we send them out !!!
You will need to transfer the original UREI meter COVER over to this meter
- as the original UREI Meter has the infinity adjuster higher up than this or all other meters do.
The adjuster has an off-set to adjust the normal lower positioned adjuster
- just that UREI wanted the adjuster higher up for some unknown reason.
If you look at the pictures you will see that the ORIGINAL UREI VU meter
has the infinity adjust in exactly the same position as my replacement meter !!!
You just (carefully !) pull your existing cover off you meter
and (carefully !) place it on this meter.
This is VERY EASY to do...
Also you will now use the lower position in the orignal UREI VU mount
Also unlike other more costly UREI replacement meters
that are cheap Chinese Meters and do NOT have the correct Balistics
this unit HAS the same UREI VU meter lighting !!!
All meters will be tested before they're shipped out
to insure they're both accurate and have smooth movements.
In most cases these meters can be considered 'Vintage" since by now most are over 25 years old.
Since you will be swapping the face Cover plate of the Replacement meter
with the Original UREI meter's face plate, you don't need a 'good' face Cover plate,
and the meter I send you MAY have a cracked face Cover plate....
as you're not going to use it anyway !

The Face Plates are easy to swap...
Some UREI faces will need to be glued in place on the replacement meter
Use only a SMALL drop of glue on each side !
If your UREI face is glued to the UREI meter, use an Xacto knife or razor blade
to gentily pry off the face plate or cover... be careful !
VU meters are delicate - they have to be handled with care.
Since they can be easily damaged by dropping or mishandling...
VU Meters CANNOT BE RETURNED.
Consider them sold "AS-IS".
ONLY 2 Meters Left !!! Cost $ 125.00 per meter
NOTE: the RED portion on the VU Meter face has faded away from age on these meters.
